Alyssum Faldin is the younger daughter of Kennit's regular merchant. She and her sister Lily are offered by their father as prospective brides for Kennit and Sorcor. The girls' mother is shown to clearly believe in Kennit's ideas - when local young men tease the girls about their prospective marriages, their mother defends Kennit and his plans to improve Divvytown.
She was raised in Divvytown, and seems to have led a sheltered life.
It is implied that, while Kennit is not enamored of either of the girls, Sorcor is infatuated with Alyssum and courts her in between voyages.
Following the attack on Divvytown by raiders, she survives and marries Sorcor, quickly becoming pregnant. He is devoted to his family.
